Castlemaine Art Gallery
The Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum was founded in 1913 and has an impressive collection of Australian artworks and objects from Castlemaine and the surrounding district. The Gallery is housed in a heritage-listed art deco building designed by Percy Meldrum, one of the earliest examples of modernist architecture in regional Victoria.

Buda Historic Home & Garden
An authentic house and garden surviving from the gold rush era. It was home to the creative Leviny family for 118 years and houses their significant collection of art works.

Steam Train Trip Castlemaine - Maldon

Theatre Royal
Castlemaine's Theatre Royal is the oldest continually operating theatre on the Australian mainland. Back around 1852 an early structure of rough timber and canvas was constructed to provide live entertainment for the thousands of diggers who swarmed into the district after discovery of what was to become the richest gold yielding area in the country.

The Restorer's Barn
The Restorer's Barn is the renowned supermarket of memorabilia from yesteryear, attracting home decorators and collectors alike.

Castlemaine Swap Meet
The annual Lions Club of Castlemaine Swap Meet can be found every year in early April at the Camp Reserve. The oval and grounds are full of collectables, display cars and a whole range of interesting items. Although this is a Sunday only Swap Meet, why not stay with us at the Castlemaine Motel and make an interesting weekend of it, there's lots more to see and do above!
